Lesson 6: Elijah: the Power of the Spirit-Led Man
Objective: to serve God in power and courage.

B. The Widow (1 Kin. 17:8-24) - Do you think it was humiliating for Elijah to take a step of faith that made him dependent on a poor widow? Why do you think God did things this way? - How did guilt affect the widow after her son died? - How does God deal with things that cripple our faith in times of crisis?
C. Ahab (1 Kin. 18:1-18) - Did Ahab acknowledge the real reason for the problem? (v. 17-18) - Did Elijah recognize the real reason for the problem?
D. Prophets of Baal (1 Kin. 18:18-40) - In which verses does Elijah do each of the following? - rebuke the people for compromise - challenge the enemies of God to a contest - blast them with sarcasm - order water poured - pray for God to make Himself known - order the priests executed - How does Elijah’s prayer (v. 36) show that he lived the Spirit-led life?
Life Application - Describe the relationship Elijah had with God. - How does your relationship and power with God compare to Elijah’s? - How has God’s power through you impacted others’ lives? - What changes need to take place for God to most fully display His power in you?
